A consultative conference on National Action Plan – 2 was held at Kandahar provincial conference hall on 5 August 2019. Kandahar deputy governor Abdul Hanan Muneeb, directors of private sector, members of civil society, and representatives from various NGOs, youth and women from south west zone participated at the conference.
The conference was convened to collect ideas and suggestions from civil society and government organizations about the NAP – 2 commitments. Representatives from civil society and government organizations from Helmand, Zabul and Uruzgan also participated at the conference.
At his opening speech, Kandahar deputy governor Abdul Hanan Muneeb said that the Afghan government was able to successfully implement National Action Plan – 1.
Abdul Hanan Muneeb added that he expects NAP – 2 would be full of achievements, will bring positive change to the people’s lives, and citizens should be able to gain full awareness of the NAP – 2 activities.
It is worth mentioning that Afghanistan has obtained membership of Open Government Partnership in 2016.
Open Government Partnership has four main principles (Transparency, accountability, public partnership and use of technology). All ideas and suggestions were proposed by the Afghan citizens in this regard so that governance is strengthened and transparency is insured.
Similar workshops will be held in four zones including Kabul.
These workshops are launched by the Secretariat of Open Government Partnership Afghanistan in cooperation with civil society organizations.
